From December 2022 to June 2023, Pim and I continued to chat about our vision for building a SaaS company. Our conversations were casual but meaningful, gradually aligning on the principles that matter to us and brainstorming the kinds of products we would like to create. It became clear that we both shared a passion for building solutions that empower businesses and make a genuine impact.
During this time, we explored different ideas for potential products. There was one in particular that I was really excited about. It was ambitious—something that could transform how non-profits operate. But it came with a major challenge: it would require significant investment, potentially running into millions. It was a big dream, but one that felt a bit too big for our first step.
So, while we were both eager to build something together, we also realized that this wasn’t the right moment to dive in headfirst. The decision wasn’t easy, but it was necessary. We wrapped up our conversation on a warm day in my garden in Mechelen, agreeing that while we both wanted to create something, now wasn’t the time to get started.
One of the key reasons was that I was still deeply involved in building Enter Digital, a new venture I had started just two months earlier. Enter Digital was still in its early stages, and it required much of my time and attention. Balancing two projects simultaneously wouldn’t have been fair to either of them.
As we parted ways that day, we promised to keep thinking about Euquista, to stay in touch, and to revisit the idea when the time was right. It wasn’t the end—far from it. It was simply a pause, giving us space to ensure that when we do move forward with Euquista, we do it with full focus and intention.
So, while we didn’t take action just yet, we laid down the foundation of our vision. Sometimes, knowing when to wait is just as important as knowing when to begin. We remain excited about what’s to come, and we’ll keep sharing our journey as it unfolds.
